Staff Analysis of the Legislation

HB 256 amends Code Section 5-6-34 of the OCGA by adding a new paragraph that states that all judgments, orders, or rulings involved with criminal case appeals involving a capital offense and appeals involving nonmonetary judgments in child custody cases that deny or refuse to grant immunity to an individual based upon sovereign, official, qualified or any other immunity when such parties are government entities.
